Every system is planned around your structure and local conditions, with the goal of following recognized industry standards such as NFPA 780.
Visual inspection
Air terminals, conductors, fasteners, and connections checked for damage, looseness, and corrosion.
Grounding check
Ground connections inspected, and testing performed where appropriate.
Repairs & updates
Repair of damaged components and updates after additions, re-roofing, or new rooftop equipment.
Certification support
Coordination with third-party inspectors when certification is required.
When to schedule an inspection
After installing a new system, after major storms or hurricanes, after a roof replacement or addition, when buying a property that already has a system, and periodically as routine maintenance. Industry guidance generally recommends regular visual inspections plus more thorough periodic inspections.
What goes wrong over time
Conductors can be disconnected by roofers or other trades, air terminals can be knocked loose by wind or hail, connections can corrode, especially near the coast, and new rooftop equipment may not be bonded to the system. Ground connections can also be damaged by landscaping or construction.
Existing and older systems
Many older Texas homes, barns, and churches have systems that were installed decades ago. We can inspect them, identify missing or damaged parts, and recommend repairs or upgrades.

How often should a lightning protection system be inspected?
Regular visual checks plus a more thorough periodic inspection are generally recommended, along with inspections after major storms, roof work, or additions.
Can you inspect a system someone else installed?
Yes. We inspect existing systems regardless of who installed them.
My roof was replaced. Is my lightning protection still working?
It may not be. Systems are sometimes disconnected or reinstalled incorrectly during re-roofing, so an inspection afterward is a good idea.
Do you provide certification?
We can help coordinate third-party inspection and certification when an insurer, owner, or architect requires it.
