Rebuilt and new homes after Hurricane Michael
Hurricane Michael came ashore near Mexico Beach as a Category 5 in October 2018, and a lot of Bay County has been rebuilt or replaced since. New roofs and new homes are a good time to add lightning protection: conductors can be concealed during construction, and on a new roof the system can be installed without disturbing older materials.
If you had a system before the storm and the roof was replaced, check that it was put back and reconnected. See lightning rod repair and re-roof reinstallation and new construction lightning protection.
Beach homes and condos
Along Front Beach Road and the gulf-front streets of Panama City Beach, homes and condo buildings stand tall right at the water with nothing higher nearby. Salt air is hard on metal, so materials and fasteners are chosen for the coastal exposure.
Marinas, boat storage, and businesses
St. Andrews Bay and the marinas around it have dry-stack storage, bait shops, restaurants, and service buildings, and the city has warehouses and offices tied to the port and Tyndall Air Force Base. We design systems around large flat and metal roofs. Work on base goes through the base's own contracting process. See commercial lightning protection.

FAQ
Panama City lightning protection FAQ
Do you serve Panama City Beach, Lynn Haven, and Mexico Beach?
Yes, along with Callaway, Parker, Southport, and Youngstown. Call (682) 490-2850, Monday through Saturday, 7am to 7pm.
We replaced our roof after Michael. Was our lightning protection reinstalled?
Not always. Roofers sometimes remove air terminals and conductors and don't put them back. We can inspect the system and reinstall or repair it.
Does salt air affect lightning rods?
It can, over time. We choose materials and fasteners suited to coastal exposure and recommend periodic inspection.
Can you protect a condo building?
We can work with the association or property manager on taller buildings. We review the roof and any drawings before giving an estimate.
