New Construction Lightning Protection for Homes & Builders

The best time to add lightning protection is while the home is being built. We work from your plans, rough in concealed conductors and grounding before drywall and roofing, and come back to finish the roof work, so the system is hidden and the schedule stays on track.

Serving custom homes, barndominiums, and new buildings across Texas

What's Included

What new construction lightning protection includes

Every system is planned around your structure and local conditions, with the goal of following recognized industry standards such as NFPA 780.

Estimate from your plans

Send the roof plan or floor plan and we'll lay out air terminals, conductors, and grounding and price the system before you break ground.

Concealed rough-in

Down conductors run inside walls and attics during framing, so nothing shows on the finished exterior.

Grounding at the right stage

Ground rods and connections placed while the site is open, before landscaping, flatwork, and fences go in.

Roof finish & surge

Air terminals set once the roof is on, with surge protection coordinated with your electrician at the panel.

Why build it in

Adding lightning protection during construction usually means a cleaner look and less work than retrofitting later. Conductors can be hidden inside the walls instead of routed along the outside, grounding goes in before the yard is finished, and roof attachments are planned with the roofer instead of added after the fact.

Working with builders

We fit into your schedule the way other trades do: a rough-in visit during framing, before insulation and drywall, and a finish visit after the roof is on. We coordinate with your framer, roofer, and electrician, and we give you a clear written estimate with copper and aluminum options so you can pass the choice to your client.

Custom homes, barndominiums, and more

We protect new custom homes, barndominiums, metal buildings, shops, barns, and churches. Hilltop lots, open acreage, tall rooflines, and metal roofs are common reasons owners ask for protection on a new build. Our goal is for every system to follow recognized industry standards such as NFPA 780.

FAQ

New Construction Lightning Protection FAQ

When should a builder call you on a new home?

As early as you have plans. We can price the system from the roof or floor plan, then schedule the rough-in for framing, before insulation and drywall.

Can the conductors be hidden?

Yes. On new construction, down conductors are usually run inside the walls and attic during framing, so the finished home shows only slim air terminals on the roof.

Do you offer copper and aluminum systems?

Yes. We can quote both so the owner can choose. The right material also depends on the roofing and siding the system touches.

Do you work with metal roofs and barndominiums?

Yes. We use mounting methods suited to standing seam and other metal roofs, and we bond the metal building into the system.
